The right role at the right time! The story of how I came to play Kate in a production of David Lindsay-Abaire's "Good People" is truly unbelievable. The whole experience was magical and I'll truly never forget working with such a talented group of people who welcomed me with open arms.

But if you want the story of how it came together, keep on reading...

It all started with an IG DM from an old acting classmate. She said she had a friend who was in need of a replacement in her play because an actor had to quit. The problem was...the play was in 3 weeks! I told her to connect me with the director and I'd at least be willing to hear more about the role. Stacey, the director, was so sweet and explained the situation. But she gave me the real kicker...my scene would be about 40 minutes long! I have to say, I started to sweat a little. But, I said I would read it over and send in a tape if I thought I could do it. I'd never done a play before. So, I called on a good friend, Alyssa, to ask if I was insane for even thinking of doing it. And this is where it got weird. Alyssa told me that SHE was going to reach out to me about taking the role, too! Turns out, she was friends with the director as well (how is NYC so small???). At that point, I knew I had to do it. I just felt it in my bones. That, and the role of Kate was so aligned with me that her words just fell out of my mouth (that and David's amazing writing).

So, I made a schedule for how many pages I'd have to learn everyday to be ready for rehearsals and enlisted the help of my friends and family to run lines with me (thanks so much to them!). I met the rest of the cast and the rest was history. Our shows were so electric. Feeling the audience absorb every emotion, every twist...hearing their laughter, was something I won't soon forget.

Ahhh, if I could do that play everyday, I would...
